With a single level of vocabulary organized into nine selection areas, the Hawk is intended for use in start-up, trainer or other early language situations; as well as in specific IEP-related activities, such as cause-and-effect and discrimination training. Since the Hawk is easily and quickly programmed, it can be cycled through context after context during the class day, supporting communication in a variety of activities such as circle time, meal time, errands and games.

Hawk II
The Hawk II and Hawk III are similar to the Hawk communication device, with improvements including expanded recordable memory and more levels, volume control, and switch inputs. This allows even more use from the device as the user goes beyond the limits of the Hawk device.
